Meet the Executive Committee

  • Phil Yelland

    President

The Man, Myth & Legend of Murrayfield DAFS. Currently ruling with an iron fist in his post as president, Phil started with London Road and made his debut in a friendly against the winners of the Christians vs Lions match in the coliseum. Having played at every level of the club, his biggest focus nowadays is on the running of the club, particularly the burgeoning youth set up and actively gets involved in any club activity. His second biggest focus is remembering the details of the thousands of cricketing anecdotes he has stored over the years.

  • Graeme Roxburgh

    Treasurer

Graham's son Harry joined the club through our all stars programme in 2017 and it wasn't long before we had recruited him to become the new club Treasurer. With previous experience as the treasurer for Scottish Widows we are sure the club is in good hands.

  • Vivek Tyagi

    1st Team Captain

  • Neil Yelland

    Director Of Cricket

The ruggedly handsome one taking the photo. Neil played his first game for the club when he was 8, and has continued to turn out the same level of underperformance ever since. After a stint away from the club, he returned in 2016 to coach the club and do a passable attempt at playing. Taking up the mantle of 'Angriest Fast Bowler' with the retirement of Melvyn Clench, he is most often found either shouting at fielders for dropping/missing catches no matter how absurd, shouting at batsmen for no reason, or shouting at himself having left a straight one.

  • Bruce Snaddon

    Junior Coordinator

Bruce brought his two sons Lewis and Callum to All Stars back in 2017 and has never looked back. Lewis and Callum have progressed through All Stars, Dynamos and now onto Hardball and Bruce has gradually got more involved at the club. He now works alongside Phil Yelland as the junior coordinator and is responsible for ensuring all the sessions are organised for the 100+ kids the club now caters for.

  • Sunny Verma

    Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer

Sunny has been with club since 2013? He is well known for his big hitting at the top of the order and has been known to turn his arm over from time to time. In more recent years he has become very active in our junior section as his son Neil has come through the ranks. Over the last couple of years he has been responsible for looking after our U12/U14 hardball teams with his sidekick and club sponsor Steve Mulholland. The time that they have put in can not be underestimated. The improvements shown can largely be put down to the their devotion to giving the juniors the encouragement to play and improve. Sunny recently completed his Level 1 coaching badge so will be getting more involved on the coaching side in the future.

  • Finlay Ross

    Social Secretary

Fin was one of our very first junior members and has worked his way up the ladder via all the junior age groups and then through all 4 adult teams. He is well known for his ineffective jumping defence and for throwing extreme tantrums when he gets out, he has been known to sit at the opposite side of the ground as well as throwing all of his toys out the pram. He is an excellent top order batsman and fielder. His bowling has recently reverted back to his dibbly dobbler seam up of old after a stint of very unsuccessful spin bowling. He can usually be found in the Roseburn Bar with his cricket wife Alex "Millwall" Dow drinking one of the worst beers on the planet, Tennants................

  • Iain Martin

    General Committee Member

Iain is a long standing member of the club who briefly moved to Livingston CC due to circumstance before returning to the club in 2016. In his previous stint at the club he was the club secretary for a long period and is always on hand to help with any job the club needs doing. He was one of the members responsible for starting up are now thriving junior section for which the club is truly greatful. He has found fame amongst club members over the last year with his 'Where's Iain' competition on the club Whatsapp group. The nature of his job means he does alot of travelling and through picture clues its the members jobs to determine where he is.

  • Phil Hawkins

    General Committee Member

Phil joined the club back in 2009 when he moved up to Edinburgh from Wiltshire in the South of England. He has spent time as the 3rd Team, 2nd Team and 1st Team captain as well as being the club secretary for 5 years. Phil claims to be an opening batter and wicket keeper although many in the club may not agree. He can normally be seen in the pub after the game whinging about the opposition whilst slurping on a Crabbies Ginger Beer. Much to everyone's delight his non-beer drinking approach seems highly amusing to most. Phil is well known in the club for having "the Guns" and smashing sixes to all parts of ground and for being an extra in the hit film "Flash Gordon" as one of Brian Blessed's Hawkmen.

  • Ram Ketinedi

2nd Team Captain and General Committee Member

Ram has been with the club since 2016 and has made regular appearances for the 2s, 3s Roseburn Bar and the local kebab shop where he is on first name terms with the owner.

This is his second season after taking on the captaincy in 2022.
