2019 AGM Summary

The 2019 AGM took place at the Riversdale Suite on Wednesday 4th December. With a raucous atmosphere, in some quarters at least, the good number of attendees were too engrossed in Treasurer Graeme’s pie charts to that Amazon were debuting their Premier League streaming service.

Following discussions with junior parents, the junior fees have been simplified to a one-off payment of £45 which covers membership, training, coaching and match fees (from £30 membership + regular match/training fee). This should offer better value for most regular players and be easier for parents and the club to manage. The senior fees remain unchanged from 2019.

We thanked our sponsors Mulholland Plant Hire, Felshams PD, Roseburn Bar and Boardwalk Beach Club for their continued support. We also ackowledged the efforts of several volunteers who helped over the season with junior training and pitch preparation with Sam Fergusson, Finlay Ross, Gavin Poole and Phil Hawkins all being gifted personalised MDAFS backpacks and the departing Phil Hook being given a club match shirt.

A Member is for life, not just for Christmas

There was a rare important piece of other business as Iain Martin was recognised for his contribution to the club and nominated for life membership by Phil Hook. The proposal was seconded unanimously by everyone in attendance and Espresso Martini becomes the club’s 6th life member.

Iain has devoted much time to the club on and off the field for many years. Most recently, Iain can be recognised as the tireless chief scorer and superfan of the 1st XI and community liasion, securing the club record sponsorship for the 2019 season. Iain also sits on the committee in an elected post where he lends his expertise and experience to help the running of the club. The clubs healthy position owes a lot to Iain’s efforts.

We look forward to having him at the club for many more years.
