Club News

Wanderer's Gents Dining Club

The club has been invited to the Wanderer’s Christmas dinner on Wednesday 18th December and we would like to book a table of 10. The cost is £25 each which includes wine on the table. There are several places booked already, if you would like to join, please get in touch.

Winter Juniors

The club has been running hugely popular junior sessions on Fridays at St George’s School for both boys and girls. Contact Phil Yelland if you would like to get involved or would like to help out.

MUFTAs 2019

Our annual awards night was held in August at our sponsored bar, Roseburn. Congratulations to the winners, in particular Sam Fergusson, Graeme Mitchell and Farhad Chinigar who were 1s, 2s, and 3s players of the year, respectively.

Committee Update

Since the season finished, the committee has met in October and November to discuss juniors, club finances and plans for next season and beyond. We also had an armoury clean-up in September in preparation for next season which included an unconfirmed sighting of an obscure Scottish cricket celebrity.

What can you do?

Several elected posts, including the 1s and 2s captaincy and club secretary, are vacant. However, there are many ways you can get involved and volunteer your time to help grow the club from getting hands-on at junior training, maintaining the club’s social media presence or offering support using your skills in IT/finance and so on.

If you would like to stand for an elected role, you should let a member of the committee know. As a courtesy, if you are hoping to stand for a role that is currently occupied, please let the current holder know in advance of the AGM.
