It is with heavy hearts that Murrayfield DAFs wish to inform our followers that we have lost a key figure in the Edinburgh cricketing community. Ian Shiels, former club President, passed away early last week.

Ian was a good friend, a coach, mentor and a great cricketer who put his heart and soul into making MDAFs the club that it is now. He instilled in us all, the drive to create an inclusive, competitive and forward thinking cricket club and leaves a legacy that all of us will strive to continue.

Ian contributed much to the ESCA league, a standout in creating a junior pathway for our youngsters and will be missed by all who knew him.

Rest easy friend, we will catch up for a Pie & Pint on the other side.
