Profile of Duncan Peake

Dizzy...I'm so dizzy my head is spinnin'"I'm sure "Our 'Enry" (Collin) could add a few more comments ... and it is Mr Collin who we should be thanking for our very own Jason Gillespie... "I've got this Aussie guy at work" he said ..."shall I bring him down?". In his short time with us so far, "Dizzy" Peake has brought typical Antipodean fire with both ball and bat and, much to the joyful surprise of the Rev MacLeod the other day, (some gentle?) sledging of opposition batsman who dare to back away from a rib-tickler. Taken some excellant catches as well. Not shy of a beer or two ... and (rare for an Oz) will drink decent ale too! The ideal export from Down Under? Almost. Just needs to grow the goatie fuzz back.

Person Least Want to be Marooned on Desert Island with and why?Anyone who is boring, coz it could get kinda dull...
Best Sporting Moment? Australia winning the World Cup in 1999 and 2003. And any occasion where Australia beats England (steady on, web-ed)or New Zealand.
Best Sporting Moment/Achievement (personal or any)? Winning the NSW Combined High Schools Competition in 1994. Scoring 140 for Roseville 5th Grade (but got robbed by about 30 runs as hitting the ball into houses was inexplicably ruled as a dot ball)
Worst Sporting Moment/Achievement (personal or any)? Spraying the golf ball around Royal Melbourne Golf Course and shooting 120 in a school competition and the guy that beat me got 84 or something.. totally humiliating. Failing to score a run until my 7th innings of 2002. (Needless to say my average took a bit of a hammering that year. I was absolutely atrocious)
Sporting Idol?Steve Waugh (he takes no prisoners, and is a decent player as well)
Personal Motto/Philosophy? "Why not?"
Significant/Tenous Claim to Fame (if any)? This is more dubious than tenuous but I was at the bar toilets next to Graham Arnold and Robbie Slater (Socceroo’s) at Melbourne’s Crown Casino after Australia’s tragically devastating football capitulation to Iran in November 1997. I’m pretty sure that it was a flood of tears that the floor was soaked in..... A boring one is that I was interviewed several times on national and state radio on publication of my dissertation on what??? webby after finishing uni.. my 15 minutes is all but over.
