At a sunny Sunday Muirhouse on a somewhat lively track(!), a MDCCXI defeated Comrie in a friendly match. MDCC posted 173-8 off 40 overs with Mangesh Akerkar scoring 62, Asif Mohammed a rapid 28 (2 sixes), Ian Shiels 25, and Jean-Pierre Rocha-Cruz 22. For Comrie, A Rogerson took 3-31 off 8 overs and A Dowse 2-4 off 2 overs including a pouching a superb CnB off a fierce JP drive. Comrie start well with Watters (25) and Keldie (21) putting on 40 before Siddarth (5-1-17-1) takes the first wicket and then Tom (6-1-14-1) and Adam (5-1-9-1) put the squeeze on Comrie. JP then single-handedly derails the Comrie middle-order by smartly running out the Comrie skipper, Charlie Gibbons for a duck, and then claiming a double-wicket maiden in a spell of 3-2-1-2. Daniel Henry's leg-spin accounts for Lamb, stumped for 10, the only other Comrie batsman to reach double figures. Daniel finishes with 4-0-11-2. Enter the Belly to apply the coup de grace with 2.3-1-2-2 as Comrie are dismissed for 86. Other bowlers used, young Gurjeet Singh with 3-0-20-0 and Martin Ward 2-0-11-0.
